In 2008-09, these Virginians all had a VMFA art experience in their own communities-many of them miles from Richmond. The VMFA Office of Statewide Partnerships provides educational exhibitions and programs to museums, arts centers, library galleries, schools and universities throughout the Commonwealth.

Ready-to-hang traveling exhibitions are available. They
feature original works by historic and contemporary artists
many of them Virginiansor image panels that explore
diverse cultures and topics that complement Virginia’s
Standards of Learning objectives.

- MEDIA RESOURCES–FREE
With the largest audiovisual loan collection of any Museum in
the country, VMFA provides statewide access to over 2,500
DVDs, CD-ROMs, videotapes, films, educational discovery
kits, and posters.
- ART ON THE SPOT–FREE
Partners can facilitate access to this new in-school program with a professional educator and SOL based resources for statewide elementary classrooms.
- ARTIST WORKSHOPS–PARTNER DISCOUNT
Intensive master classes in the visual and performing arts
allow children and adults to work closely with professional
artists of state, regional, and national reputation.
- SPEAKERS ON THE ARTS–PARTNER DISCOUNT
This lecture series features curators, educators, and art
historians who share their expertise on a wide variety of
exciting and informative topics with adult audiences
statewide.
- EDUCATOR WORKSHOPS–PARTNER DISCOUNT
Information-packed workshops show educators how to use
works of art to teach Virginia’s Standards of Learning
objectives across the school curriculum.

Privately endowed financial awards are made annually to
professional, graduate and undergraduate Virginia artists.

VMFA’s expert staff provides professional consultation on
an array of museum subjects.

Museum Partners receive a subscription to VMFA's quarterly My Museum and Annual Report; program promotional materials, press kits, etc.; and opportunities for publicity on the Statewide Calendar section of the VMFA website.
