Through close-up photography, this challenging live-action film transforms a commonplace food into magic. The film presents a serious technical challenge because the subject, filmed as it simmers in hot oil, is both elusive and explosive! Suggested Classroom Activities: Have students draw or take a photograph of a commonplace object from an unusual viewpoint or by isolating a detail of the object. After guessing what each other’s objects are, students can then discuss the importance of point of view and scale in making art.
